Mangawhai Community markets
So my favourite cosy little spot is inside at the Mangawhai Community markets on a Saturday.
Unfortunately though this Easter weekend our Community market is being held all outside.
As the school hall is booked.
I’m not comfortable seeing clients in my gazebo outside in the unpredictable weather.
So I made the call not to be there.
I’ll miss you but be back the following week again, when we are inside.

Dahlia moments
The other weekend at market I got given a beautiful bunch of dahlias.
You probably already know by now my deep love of flowers.
I was first introduced to dahlias by a woman very close to my heart. Who had a hand in helping me raise my children.
I thought of her and some of the lovely heart moments that we have shared - as I made those big bunch of dahlias into a circlet on the table, then a posy and photographing them.
Afterwards I quickly needed to get them in some water. In the hope they’d last for ages.
So I put a few of them in water, leaning on the edge of a white bowl with daisies too.
They reminded me of elegant ladies sitting by the edge of the pool dangling there legs in the water.
It was something that we would have done back all those years ago.
Appreciating the beauty in things , laughter, sunshine, being creative, aroha and being in nature. A few of the things we loved and shared.
Oh and our children- of course !

Sending heaps of aroha to everyone who has been affected by the Cyclone, and then the flash flooding last week- it’s been so sad and intense.
Also though it’s been wonderful to see our community band together to repair the damage with their own trucks and diggers. And come together as a community to support each other.
I always say to myself in times like these…Look for the helpers, they’re everywhere ….and they really are!

I found this azalea outside tucked in a corner this morning. It survived the cyclone and is shining brightly today.
A nice reminder.
