I came to my work in 1998, when I had my first baby. I had post-natal depression and was awake and distressed a lot during the first few months of motherhood.

During this time, one day in the early hours of the morning I felt the presence of my grandmother on my right shoulder who had passed away 10 years previous. She whispered to me that she was with me loving and supporting me through my journey.

I would often talk with her and feel her loving support thereafter.

Becoming a Medium
As time passed, I began to research about becoming a medium as I felt I had so many questions that needed answering that weren’t able to be answered elsewhere.

This journey of curiosity lead me to undergo formal training in the USA with Doreen Virtue, completing my mediumship training under her guidance.

My healing work has taken me to many places, including India, Indonesia, California and now where I currently reside in Mangawhai, New Zealand.

Creative Expression
In 2008 I took a year to complete the first year of my visual arts degree.

As part of my body of work, I channeled through the works of a contemporary Maori cloak with the help of my Tupuna (ancestors). This was a powerful and empowering part of my work as a medium, giving me direct access to my whakapapa (culture, experiences and wisdom), providing the basis of a creative platform for my Mandala artwork.

Shamanic Training
In the recent years of 2014 – 2017 I completed 4 years of intensive shamanic healing training with two local New Zealand Shaman women.
This expanded my knowledge and awareness through tuning into the energy of a person or place,  and using my shamanic tools to assist them in the healing process through anything from soul retrieval, land healing, house clearings, and past life regressions.

Tohunga - Maori healer training

From January 2019 - November 2019 I trained with Tohunga -Maori healer Wiremu Nia Nia of wiremuniania.co.nz. This was the most incredible experience, bringing together all my training thus far into my own cultures ways of healing. Understanding it through the lens of my own Maori cultures way of healing in Te Ao Maori - The Maori worldview.

I understood so much more of myself through this process and who I am as Matekite - Maori Psychic Medium to be able to help others.

Shamanic Healing

I bring my shamanic healing into all aspects of my work. I tune into the energy of a person or place and can feel where the healing needs to happen. It can be past or present life, through trauma. I use my shamanic tools to do land and house clearings, and also Soul retrieval. All of these are very deep forms of healing which can have powerful and empowering effects.

I channel mandalas bringing through the beauty and uniqueness of my own individual style. I channel through personal mandalas for clients to use as tattoos, on their surfboards, for their work and home spaces, and recently was commissioned to do one in a yoga studio.
I do this by taking the time to talk with my client about what it is that they value, what is important to them. Then I imbued into their mandala… the mandala is born ~
